sofar... Cool Stuff
Here are some websites that I have found useful and cool that may also do the same for you.
- 14ch_eternal-gomez: Intriguing RPG Maker games.
- Advent of Code: Cool programming challenges released in December every year.
- AirVPN: The best VPN that supports port forwarding.
- Anna's Archive: A great resource for paywalled research papers.
- Bandcamp: Good discovery platform for new indie music.
- Bull of Heaven: One of the most creative musical projects of the 21st century. Apparently their main page is down, I linked to their repository on Archive.org since their website was basically a frontend for that anyways but they did have some flash apps on their website too.
- Consumer Rights Wiki: Louis Rossmann's wiki that catalogues bad practices of many popular brands / companies so you can make more informed decisions on what you purchase.
- Cover Search Engine: The best search engine for high quality cover art.
- Digital Blasphemy: 3D wallpapers, I am a big fan of his late 90's, early 2000's releases.
- drawing.garden: A very relaxing screen painting site.
- I Code 4 Coffee: Cool video game hacking experiments.
- IPLeak: Check if your VPN is leaking your real IP address to websites.
- Itch: Like Bandcamp but for video games.
- Louis Rossmann's Introduction to a Self Managed Life: A guide on how to start self hosting services on your own server.
- /mu/ Wiki: The board sucks now but the charts they used to produce are good introductions to genres.
- Mullvad VPN: The best VPN that doesn't support port forwarding.
- My Abandonware: A repository of abandonware video games that are no longer sold by the original publishers.
- Myrient: Large & easy to navigate collection of ROMs and other video game related media.
- Neocities: A discovery and creation platform for the independent web.
- ProtonDB: WineHQ for Steam and actually active.
- RateYourMusic: A very great website for music discovery, I don't quite click with the community though.
- The Internet Archive: The modern Library of Alexandria that is being threatened by the DMCA.
- TinEye: Reverse image search that actually works (fuck Google Images!).
- /v/ Wiki: /v/ used to actually play video games, good ones too.
- Vimm's Lair: A large ROM collection, has since been hit with takedown notices for bigger IPs. Fill in holes with Myrient. ROM hacks and manuals are still fully intact.
- VirusTotal: Online virus scan, don't take it to heart, but it's a good filter.
- Visual Paradox: More Y2K-style wallpapers, but sadly inactive.
